Their Story

Rumor has it that in 2004, on a bustling Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, Parker had walked by Inaya. He had just started college at BU, and Inaya was finishing up high school on the same campus at BUA. Perhaps there was a fleeting glance or a wry smile, but it was not yet meant to be. From that day, threads began to weave around them. Inaya had left town, but her high school friends became Parker's college friends. It wasn't until 18 years later, at a dinner with their mutual friends, they were seated at opposite corners of a restaurant table. The sparks did not fly. Inaya famously left thinking "that one is definitely not for me."
They found themselves together again four months later at their friend Asad's birthday party talking about botanical gardens and cooking. Something had shifted - a strange feeling, a fluttering of the heart, and then an amorous gaze. Over extremely dry muffins and coffee the two found each other. Wrapped up in conversation, the threads had woven back together. And this time it was meant to be.

Day 1 - Gaye Holud
Friday May 2, 2025 - 5:00pm
About: Translated to "yellow/turmeric on the body," this is a festive Bengali pre-wedding ceremony that takes place before the main wedding. This is a joyous, more casual celebration when guests have an opportunity to smear turmeric paste on the face and hands of the couple and may feed them small treats. It is believed that the turmeric paste applied by guests to the couple's skin is beautifying and auspicious, warding off "evil eyes."
Location: The Barn
Dress Code: South Asian or Western festive, dressy casual - Shades of yellow, orange, pink, magenta, and/or green encouraged (but not required)

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What date should I RSVP by?
ASAP please. The sooner we know, the better we can plan the last few details of the wedding weekend.
2. Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Both! The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, and the other events will be indoors. Make sure to check the weather before you pack your bags for the weekend.
3. What is the dress code for the weekend?
Please see above on The Details page.
4. What about kids?
Though we love your little ones, this wedding is adults only.
5. Is there a registry?
No, there is no registry for our wedding. We truly consider your presence the best present. For those of you who still insist, please, no boxed gifts (no room in our car home!) and consider a donation in our honor to Scholarship Plus or Brooklyn Raga Massive.
